I've been embellishing + making lots of things with vintage lace and doilies lately, so many that I thought I'd do a little "series" here on Some Girls Wander for the next week.
The first example is this ho-hum jersey babydoll dress that needed taking-in, and therefore was languishing in my "alter-or-trash" basket next to my sewing machine:
I had the bird embroidery (also thrifted) in a little frame, but I decided it would be very nice if he could be portable.

Are old doilies not the best? I did something similar to a sweater of mine yesterday and posted it on my blog. This looks great, and so does the beret!
