Oh, second blog. I seem to have momentarily forgotten about you!
It is so easy to fall off the bandwagon and lose one's steam...I vow to post at least a little post nearly-daily for the next week or two, to make it up to you.
PS: I finally got the hotly debated (in my head) bird shoes...I think it was my mama asking me a few weeks after my initial post if I had bought them yet, and being shocked that I hadn't, because she also thought they were so special. Let me tell you...they are show-stoppers. I love that word. But if ever a pair of shoes were, these are the ones.
I've been wearing them with some plain-jane dresses and ensembles and they just make everything an A+. I think I wore them for 3 straight days when they first arrived!

these are great emily. i am so all over the white shoes with black or dark tights. I love it! they look way better in person that on the site!

Oh Emily, you always wind up buying and making the cutest things! It's a gift. I think it's worth it to buy something special that you really love--you may wear basics a lot but it's the beautiful things you cherish--not that I'm telling you anything by saying that. (And by the way, some friends came to visit this weekend and greatly admired your work.)

Absolutely LOVE those shoes, but ooh, not with those socks, tights, hose, whatever those are????? The colors clash and they overpower the shoes :-(

I love the shoes AND the tights! I love the shoes WITH the tights! You have a great sense of style and I'm glad you don't need anyone's approval or disapproval. I really like your "second" blog. I hope we see more of the commercial peices that you rework. They are inspiring. I now see the potential of an applique or lace, or a little embroidery placed just so on some of my Target purchases.

Oh my gosh! I am not a shoe person normally, and sadly... I don't usually feel comfortable wearing heels due to my height (and boyfriend's lack thereof...), but those shoes are just... fantastic. I love them. :) They look great with the stockings/socks/tights, whatever they are, too!
