This painting has been finished, varnished, and scanned for a little while now and I kept forgetting to blog it! It will also be one of the treasures in the update.
The Red Piano 11"x14"x2" Acrylic on canvas
It's going to be a good one. Really, really good.
I'm excited, will see you tomorrow (Tuesday) at 2:00 pm New York time.

Thank you for making such wonderful things Emily! I am sooo super excited to see my "sleepy sam" when he gets here. I wanted so badly for my Sophie doll to have a buddy! I'll send pictures of how cute they look sitting together on our couch!
Thanks again :)

Hi black apple..so I am late, very late..checking out your shop update! Due to another nursing supervisor calling in two days in a row..I have been working a lot this week..and thus..did miss your shop update. I was really looking forward to it! I had wanted to get my stepdaughter a gift for her birthday! She will be 17. I will keep checking back though! Take care..love your sweet, ghostly ideas. jenn
jenn · June 10, 2008 at 09:15 PM
Well, several things were in my cart at one time or another...but none made it through checkout. No frowns, though...after the last update (my first) I came to realize that it is true: there will be more good stuff next time, maybe something even better! :-) Meantime, I took my leftover nervous energy and whipped out some lovely kitchen curtains :-)
GirlieGirl · June 10, 2008 at 06:18 PM
incredible update miss!! Oh how I wanted a sophie so badly.. but just wasn't fast enough. I hope there will be more Sophie dolls in the next update! :) Great work, and congrats!

i so could have gotten everything. i saw it all go...go...*poof*
GREAT JOB ON YOUR HARD WORK
kim* · June 10, 2008 at 05:20 PM
Missed it by that much. I will see you for the next one. In the mean time the inspiration will stay with me, which is possibly the greatest gift.
Cindy · June 10, 2008 at 04:53 PM
I agree with the first commenter. It would be nice to see what you offered in your update. Other than what you post on the blog, I see nothing. I don't know how much you charge for your original paintings or what the collection looks like. Unfortunately, I work during the day. The up side is that I know I will never have an opportunity to own one of your originals, so I don't get caught up in the frenzy nor end up spending! Continued success to you. Your format seems to be working! (My loose change will continue to be diverted to vintage glass hand-blown in West Virginia)!
Janis · June 10, 2008 at 04:38 PM
For those of us who can't get to a computer all day, do we even get to SEE what treasures we missed out on today? Can you post the sold stuff so we can peek?
sarah · June 10, 2008 at 04:24 PM
Hey Emiline,
I realized that I would be home for your update, so I decided to spy on it for the first time. It's like one of your ghost how everything disappears. I considered trying to buy something just to see if it was as hard as everyone seems to think it is, but stopped myself in time to remember that I never have any money. I think the Sams are my favorite. You just get better and better.
Jenny · June 10, 2008 at 02:52 PM
Awesome update!! Amazing how fast things are bought.! Great work!
gina · June 10, 2008 at 02:26 PM
aw I missed it all, by like a minute! ah well hopefully next time, your work is amazing and was really hoping for a little ghostie. Congratulations on the update!xx
Saysie · June 10, 2008 at 02:21 PM
Awwww...I wanted the Bees Sophie so badly! :) Maybe next time (with a faster browser!). Amazing items as usual, Emily.
amysaxe · June 10, 2008 at 02:18 PM
Wow that was amazing!! So cool to see everything appear and then disappear. I wish I had some extra money today... I would have loved to pick something up. Maybe I'll have to get another print to make myself feel better =)
karley · June 10, 2008 at 02:16 PM
Yay! I finally was able to buy one of your pieces!! I'm a big sewer, so "The Unspooling" will be perfect on my wall.
Now I'm so full of excess adrenaline! Thank you!
Carolyn · June 10, 2008 at 02:15 PM
That was FUN! My heart is a pitter patter!!! I think I need a fainting couch and a snifter handed to me now.... xoxoox
A Fanciful Twist · June 10, 2008 at 02:13 PM
Well... that was fast lol! everything gone in 3 min!!! I didn't even have time to click on the "submot order" button for a lucky ghost, they were already all gone... :'( Sad for me but great for you!!! I'll be lucky next time I hope... lol!
Laure · June 10, 2008 at 02:10 PM

So lovely. Makes me nostalgic for playing piano as a little girl.
Magnificent color, wish I could see it in person.

Ana · June 10, 2008 at 12:05 PM
Emily,
You are an inspiration. I see so much of myself in you, an old self, now I am trying to get back there. Your blog is like the ray of encouragement to put my artsy self out in the world instead of keeping it all to myself. It is the only living I every really wanted.
Karin · June 10, 2008 at 12:01 PM

Neat! My grandmother has an old grand piano that is basically beyond repair for actual playing, so my mom and I painted it bright red for her and she uses it as a bar/ table. This reminds me so much of her!
Ky Eliza · June 10, 2008 at 09:28 AM

oh goodness! this one is absolutely adorable and yet so perfect for any perfect home decoration! Congrates Emily, I'll try to be there tonight (tonight for us in France :))
Anne-Julie Aubry · June 10, 2008 at 03:06 AM
This is a really lovely little painting. I had a piano as a child.
You are such a busy girl! I admire how hard you work. Even though I know how much you love what you do, it still takes such devotion and focus to keep producing work consistently. Well done Emily.
P.s. I ordered one of your prints of the two girls being carried by a bear. Its really lovely. I found this old brown wooden frame for it which fit perfectly and its now in my daughters room, next to her hand made monkey.
Trina · June 10, 2008 at 01:04 AM
...red piano is certainly a Sweet <3 Heart.
I love how your little girls&guys have adorable little ties :) They make me smile....
...I know it's the little things that make me happy!
Have fun tomorrow!
