Bread and Jam Day

Re-reading what I titled this post, it makes it sound a bit like I'm having the most leisurely of days...but it's quite the opposite! After the big update yesterday (thank you to everyone who stopped by for it!), I spent the evening getting some wholesale orders together and working on sketches for a future-awesome-project (that I'll share when the time is right). Today I've been writing and revising for another exciting future project, and Josiah is getting finished with the first steps of shipping all of your update orders out, which will be our day-long task tomorrow.

The only real reason this post has this leisurely title is because we're finishing up a loaf of bread I made Monday night and I've been slathering mine with lots of this cherry jam that I'm crazy about (pictured above). Homemade bread is so good that it really seems like a totally different animal than bread you can buy at the store. Even good store-bread. It's hard to call them both "bread", really.

I'll be back tomorrow with two things I'm very excited about showing you! Good things that can be divulged are always more exciting than good things that I have to keep under my hat.

This is my all time favorite food combination. My mother and I would start many a day with the delicious treat - it always reminds me of "back home" (Germany). I love cherry but am a severe sucker for black currant jam.

I've actually taken to trying out some variations to cherry jam and recently procured a delectable jar of cherry butter - think apple butter but with the signature tartness of cherries. It's oh so delicious, and a Georgia purchase to boot! I highly recommend!

Great!... I'm now craving lots of homemade bread and grandma's cherry jam! Thanks Emily... !! I'm supposed to be shedding a few pounds for a friends wedding at the moment not trying to gain a few! ;)

Loving the rag dolls btw but I can never catch them in the shop :(

Oh The Nigella cupcakes mentioned by another commenter are fantastic - the mix also works as a proper cake and is easy, easy, easy. My daughter makes them all the time and she is 10. You can also use other jams . . apricot, bramble . . . .
Bread and cherry jam - sounds the ideal way to stoke yourself up for packing things. I enjoyed your craftsanity podcast which I finally got around to listening to.

Congrats on the great update!

I must say, I love cherry jam as well - if you're feeling particularly decadent, Nigella Lawson makes a TO DIE FOR chocolate cupcake with ganache frosting that has cherry jam throughout. It is delectable.

And OMG - I just googled it and it came up straight away - YOU MUST TRY THESE!

My gosh, you never rest! I'm so excited to see what you come up with next. I was super happy about being able to nab one of your dollies with the ghost in the front pocket...so wonderful. I can't wait to receive it.

Yum! I looove homemade bread, now I want some!

I was soooo happy to FINALLY be able to get something off of one of your shop updates... and a sweet ghostie in an adorable frame to boot! Perfect for my little infatuation with halloween-inspired things. I can't wait to see it in person!

my favorite jam in the whole world is sour cherry jam with big chunks of fruit in it. I have yet to find one i like as well as the kind i always bought when we lived in Lithuania. I trying to get brave enough to attempt making my own and see how it goes. I just bought plumb rose jam at the store tonight. I love that you two are so sweet, working together and eating jam. :)
