Everyone Else Thinks It's the Bee's Knees 11"x14"x1" Acrylic on canvas
I'm going to have original drawings, lots of paintings, and a gaggle of dolls available in the shop next week! I've been really, really busy...running the shop during the day, painting/planning at night. Sometimes I want to figure out exactly how many hours I work a week. It has to be a lot, especially since I work 7-day work weeks.
Smiths Girl #2 8"x10"x2" Acrylic on canvas
I was never completely happy with the olde "Smiths Girl" painting (if anyone remembers her from when I first opened the shop all that time ago). The original was really small (REALLY small...I used to paint on 3"x4" canvases all the time) and so she never reproduced very well, and...she was just one of the girls that I was never at peace with.
And there MUST be a Smiths Girl in the Black Apple repertoire, I say.
Happy Friday, my sweets. The week just blew by, didn't it?

Miss Emily! Another new favorite. I love the girl with the suitcase.. what is her name? I just love her!!! I am sending a couple of things I purchased especially for my grandmother's birthday to her. You'll have a new fan I just know. She loves hedgies too.

You're telling me the week flew by. Holy cow, I can't believe it's Friday already.
Honestly, these girls' haircuts are killing me with the cuteness. Mine is so wavy/ curly, though. I just don't think they'd turn out right!
The suitcase girl is awesome.

I just want to speak up for the Original Smiths Girl -- I always loved her and, in fact, bought a copy of her for a friend who adores her.
The New Smiths Girl is also wonderful but I just wanted you to know that there are at least a few people out there who had their hearts captured by the Original Smiths Girl with her lovely red hair.
The New Smiths Girl is almost like... the Original Smiths Girl after growing up for a few years. She's not dying her hair anymore, but she still loves Morissey just as much.
In fact, she's a lot like the friend I bought the original print for!
As always, lovely work!

Like Kelly, I love the Original Smiths Girl too! I have a framed print above my bed. The frame is the same green as her eyes.
I'm definitely going to try to pick up the New Smiths Girl so I can have both.

You manage to get the facial features so dead on in all of your paintings. The girls eyes always just draw me in. Beautiful new pieces.

This is great! I love that you've done a Smiths painting- I find their lyrics to be great fodder for paintings, too.
