Drink your Milk

I broke down and got the crazy-pricey overseas subscription last November.
Even though everything on the website is in French, I just needed to do it, because, this magazine is the most magical of magazines. I think it was when Lisa finally caved and subscribed to Selvedge that I decided to go for it. And then, no magazines came. It is quarterly, but still. When two (or maybe three?) issues came and went on the website, and none came to  my mailbox, I began to grow a little concerned.

So, against Josiah's good advice, I wrote to them in awful, hilarious French, inquiring about the whole debacle. Well, it seems that my pleas in broken French touched the hearts of the subscription dept. at Milk...it was probably the phrase "Je suis triste" that really got 'em. (wink)
Less than a week
later, the newest issue was delivered to me! Sorry, I just needed to share the drama and turmoil surrounding my Milk Magazine, so that you could understand why I went crazy with happiness at its arrival yesterday.

Just some snippets of its beautiful children and whimsical strangeness (please ignore the stubby fingers):

It was so worth embarrassing myself.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Don't be embarrassed - I read Martha Stewart Baby & Kids YEARS before I had kids. Don't scoff, they have some amazing craft ideas and so much insipiring stuff in them....

what a sweet magazine! I hope the rest of the back issues come soon too - This once happened to me and I ended up getting the newest issue before the one that they had missed, so who knows maybe you'll be in for more surprises? :)

Is it okay to be jealous of a toddler? 'Cause I would kill for her decor in that bottom right photo!! Those animal masks on the wall... I'm drooling.

Emily, I had to smile at your "je suis triste" line! It obviously worked, and fast, too! So cute.

Hope you're having as nice of weather as we are today in Denver. I'm lovin' at, especially after getting snow for Easter.

not hip enough? if you were anymore hip, you wouldn't fit through doors! I LOVE your work and give it time, it always happens but your work is so detailed it will hopefully be too hard for them to copy.

Hi I was wondering if you could tell me what sort of Gocco you have.

holy cow that looks like a gooood issue. i have't seen that on stands IN A WHILE. i hate that you can't depend on import publications at bookstores. i've never been brave enough to subsribe to any either sigh. i've actually had enough troubles with u.s. magazines not arriving! sooooo silly and frustrating. but it's nice to know that a letter could just do the trick with import magazines haha. (in the u.s. not even several telephone calls helped!). ...i bet the people at milk were like aww how cute cute cute we must deliver this right away!

I just recieved my first issue as well. It took a few months to process I guess but I'm so excited it is so inspiring! Also check out Vogue Bambini. it's Italian and expensive but also has some great photoshoots.
