The Black Apple › Inside A Black Apple

PS: A little bit to read

August 10, 2006 · About Me (Mostly)

The sweetie pies over at Venus Magazine did a beautiful little write-up on me & the shop. Here is the link, should you want more to read. The lovely writer did a wonderful job of making me sound like a coherent, sharp lady.

OH! and that rascally Shannon tagged me to divulge some sort of secrets/unappealing things that I tend to downplay. So, as a child, I used to eat Kool-aid mixed with sugar, as if it were a giant pixy stick. Gross, yes? I really hate it when dogs touch me and I don't want them to. I really hate it when people touch me and I don't want them to be...like not even a little bit (read: why I stand up on the subway, even when hauling 40 packages to the P.O.) I have a bit of an arrogance problem sometimes. I judge people by the things that they like (movies, books, music, etc.).
I can't ever forget.

Your comment about judging people for what they like: Did John Cussack mention that in High Fidelity? We are what we like. I agree on that point somewhat.

Congratulations on the article, it is well deserved

Very good article, youre so gonna be famous!! if not already...

Ohhh, and yes ofcourse we are what we like....although wearing trackpants in public is causing me some problems. And I HATE people touching me also...ooohh weird...especially the sweaty girls I play sport against it. It makes me ill!!

What a fabulous writeup Emily! Yay! And I'm right there with you on not wanting to be touched. I get teased for it ruthlessly at work (everyone's rather touchy feely here...gag) And I'll be sure to keep Abby off of you if we ever meet in person. LOL :) Have a great weekend!

Oh to be so special as to be in VENUS! IS it going to be/ is it in the actual mag? Or is it something I should print offline and put on my refridgerator with a big smiley sticker on it?!

PS: I'm glad that you still like me even though I profess my goofy love for dorky movies... I want to go see step up immediately... and have already seen John Tucker must die. I wouldn't say I loved it, but I admit having liked it... a ... lot.

hah.

I used to eat Kool Aid like that too. I thought I was the only one! Thanks for making me feel a little less strange today.
