I really got a bee in my bonnet when I watched Pan's Labyrinth last winter for something that looked like a proper pinafore, but was more of a dress, and comfy. And for a grown lady, not a little person.
After trolling Ebay like crazy for months, I finally struck on the notion that I could use the jersey jumper I wore here. I added some ruffles (salvaged from some old vintage curtains I had been keeping around 'cause they were really soft and pretty).
I really love the way that the weight of the ruffles caused the skirt hang.
Happy weekend, all!

I love it, especially the pleats at the hem. :)

oh, killer hem ruffles.
have you seen all the knee socks in the fall fashion line ups? They're EVERYWHERE.
I think of you. And smile. Because it's one of my favorite looks, too.

Wow, I love this look. I'm a bit of a lurker, but I do like your style. I also love the pinafore look and here are two of my favorite "grown up" pinafores I thought you'd enjoy.

I had an Emily-like epiphany the other day. I needed a black smock-type blouse and couldn't find one I liked in spite of trying on every black top at Anthro. I was also mourning the fact that I'd bought a gorgeous black smock-type dress, a vintage something from I. Magnin, that would not hang right no matter how many times I tried it on. Can I wear it over pants? Can I cut it off??!! I did and it's perfect. I love remake. thanks for all the inspiration.
