Portlanders (I mean the Oregon variety) are so lucky. They have lots of good things going on, and I hope to visit their fair city one day soon.
In the meantime, I just have to be bitterly jealous, because they have this store, Seaplane.
I found out about this shop through one of Jessica/ShinySquirrel's posts, and I must've gone back to their site about 5 times since then just to poke around, because everything is so beautiful.
Behold:
One of the co-owners of the place, Holly Stalder, is who Jessica first posted about. Her work is just amazing, and the photographs are incredible. So graceful and rife with the ennui of one who pouts around in beautiful clothes:
It is entirely possible that the "Saffron + Silver" dress is one of my all-time favorite dresses. I can't stop thinking about it.
Anyway, Portland, I'm coming for you. Armed with lots of money. For Seaplane clothes.
Maybe in the Fall? Sounds perfect to me.

"Portlanders (I mean the Oregon variety)"!!! Ha, crack me up! I love Portland, it's dreamy. What a beautiful store! I'll have to check it out when I'm back in the neighborhood.

yes, oh yay! come to Portland. it's a very happy place. there are some really great restaurants and coffee shops around if you need any suggestions. :) and definetly hang out in NE Portland. Freemont, Mississippi, Albina, Alberta. you'll love it.

There is definately a reason they call that street "trendy third" ave.
Check out The English Department when you're up there as well.
So, so adorable.

yay, you get to see our lovely city! that would be fun if we randomly ran into you :) yes, for sure ask if you want suggestions of places to go, there are so many wonderful ones. we could write a book, except that there are too many already (though most of them do focus too much on the trendy stuff). but hey, that's how it goes. anyway, hope your trip is wonderful!

I loved Portland. Have only been there once, but it was very cool. Can't wait to go back. The drive along the coast was absolutely the most beautiful thing I've ever seen (also along Washington state's coast...sooooo incredible!).

As if I needed another reason to love Portland :)

Seriously, you must come visit. You will not be dissapointed- so, so, so much to see and do! If you want some suggestions, I think Mrs. Alicia P. over at Posie Gets Cozy got a to-do-in-Portland list going a while back. Regarding Seaplane, I think I had to pick up my jaw off the floor the first time I stepped foot in there. Lovely!

Hi Emily,
I've got a spare bedroom if you need a place to crash and you're serious about coming here. (Portland) I've lived here for 13 years and love every day I've spent. (I also lived in GA. at one point.) We'd love to have you. No need to spend extra money on a room when you could spend it at Seaplane or other kookie shops etc.. I used to know Holly back in the day. She's a sweet girl and VERY talented.
Also, I want to mention that I went to a very neat little gallery this past Thursday and saw two of you prints posted up on a wall. It looked sort of like an inspiration board or something. Pretty cool, eh?
Well, the door is open to you. John and I are good people that just like to help out where needed. :) Just don't be surprised if you get hooked and want to stay like we did. :) If that were the case, Portland should be honored to have you.

I LOVE Holly Stalder's designs. We carry some of her line in Seattle at Velouria where I work. I've been longing to have a special event to wear one of her adorable striped dresses. Very cute stuff!

I came across your blog a few weeks ago and I think it's just lovely, and it's such a coincidence that you happened to post about Portland because I just got back from there. It was one of the most awesome cities I have ever been to and I would love a chance to live there! You definitely have to visit if you ever get the chance.
All of the shops there are so interesting and unique. I have a gallery show up now at a lovely little gallery called Compound Gallery. You should check it out if you're ever in the area.
