I just realized that I forgot to show you the wedding present I talked about a few weeks ago (for my sweet Elizabeth + her now-husband, Lee)!
I thought some of you might still be interested to see it...luckily I took some quick photos before I packed it up with me for the trip to Birmingham.
(The painting is about 16"x20", including frame, and is acrylic on canvas)
I think it was a hit!
Happy Monday, sweet peas.

Lovely! I wrote in my Etsy comments about a recent gift I gave. The print was the girl and boy tied together with a scarf. Well, this friend of mine has had some relationsip trouble. Anyway, she had a picture of a woman curled up in the fetal position next to her bed. It was a lovely woman, in a flowing dress, near the beach. But I don't care how pretty you are or where you are, curled in the fetal position is not good feng shui! So, I did an intervention and gave her the scarf print of yours. AND, I take some credit for the fact that things have shifted in her relationship (and you can take some credit too!)! Her boyfriend has stepped up his game. He even noticed the print and commented on how nice it was. She too has called to say that the print makes her so happy when she sees it before falling asleep and when waking up. I just so belive that the pictures we surround ourselves with influence our self perceptions, our very soul. I told her the scarf print was given with the intention that she find the right man who wanted to be tied to her and wrapped up in her life. Art has power, my friend and I wanted to share this story with you.

I am so in love with this painting Emily, you have no idea. I already own the scarf print (it eerily resembles my husband and I, glasses and all) and the second I saw this one I wanted it. That was before I saw that it was a portrait/present but I still love it just the same. I've always loved drawing but I'm trying to get into painting for the first time and you're such an inspiration to me. Whenever people come over and see your scarf print they always ask me if it did it and I tell them about the lovely Emily!
Wendy · October 23, 2007 at 08:07 PM
It's absolutely lovely. :)

Have you considered,
If someone sends in a picture of themselves to paint a portrait?
I know I would love one.
