The Black Apple › Inside A Black Apple

As long as I have you...

Aslongasi
As long as I have you    16"x20"x1"   Acrylic on canvas

This is the newest painting I've been working on.
It's quite large (for me, that is) at 16x20, but sometimes I find it really great to paint a little larger. Especially when there is more going on in the piece, like multiple people and a hedgie and an airplane in the mist. It will be part of a massive update to the shop when I get back from Brooklyn! That will be a fun day indeed.

I'm keeping busy doing last-minute stuff for Renegade (making sure everything is priced, packaging up prints, etc.) and I still want to fit in a crop of Dunce girls, so we'll see if that happens. It could go either way...

I hope you all have wonderful weeks ahead, and just so you know, there are still a few of the Hedgie tea towels left in the shop! Happy Monday!

xoxo

It's beautiful!! I really love it. Have fun at Renegade. Wish we had an event like it here in the UK!

Christine · June 11, 2007 at 02:59 PM

Do you foresee ever making a print of this? It's so perfect, I feel like I commissioned it! It looks just like my boyfriend and me, and I have a bit of a thing for hedgies as well... I would love, love, love to add that to my collection of black Apple prints (I already have a few!)

I love this painting and the feeling I get when I look at the couple holding hands. It makes me wonder what the story is behind those two people!

Good Luck at Renegade :)

Hola Senorita,
Looks like two familiar characters??? Ahemmmm, can we say...?
They are adorable! I think they are at the Air show babysitting hedgie... Or, little girl's mom made her take a chaperone? I want her shoes. Can you make me some of those??? ;) xxxooo

How interesting! I did a piece a couple weeks ago- http://www.flickr.com/photos/coreymoortgat/521862825/ -that has the same red/white parachute in a similar location in the piece! Must be floating around in the collective unconscious right now or something! Lovely painting!

This is so cute! I love the feeling in it--the gray foggy day and the little bit of wind in her skirts! Looking forward to the update!

This painting reminds me so much of a book I've been reading. The book tells a bit about the life of Londoners during the build up to the D-Day invasion. Those Londoners were so the resolute folks with the stiff upper lip and courage oozing out of every pore. And you know... most of their clothing was ruined in the war.. so I'm sure than you Miss Emily would have loved the whole look. :)

tiffany · June 12, 2007 at 01:02 PM

This painting is really wonderful! I love that you added a hedgehog in there. The tea towels are amazing, too! Go hedgehogs!

Claire · June 12, 2007 at 03:08 PM

Ooo, I really like this one. I love the inclusion of the boy, the airplane, everything. Just lovely.

ambika · June 12, 2007 at 03:16 PM

Oh, I love this painting! I must have it for my new apartment! The plan was to have a huge wall full of art print from different artist, but I don't think there will be room for anyone else's once I've gotten all the ones I want from your store *giggle*!
