Wow! Thank you so much for all the VW advice! I was so surprised that so many folks had $0.02 to put in on the subject. I'm in the thinking phase now, and am going to actually drive some cars tomorrow, so I'll keep you posted on how the whole shebang goes off.
For Friday, some little things that caught my eye or come my way or made me happy this week:
(Small drawings/paintings on wood plaques that I made this winter...they hang in my living room)
(My old favorite-stand-by tote from the wonderful I'm Smitten)

(odds and ends on my sewing table, including a new linen Japanese-style hedgie pin cushion)
(Late-Birthday mail from a good friend)
Happy Weekend, sweet peas!

Where did you get that timer???? I need a timer in a big way and that one is just too cute! Please don't tell me you thrifted it.
Tiffany · March 23, 2007 at 07:28 PM
Ooh, the hedgie totes look great. (I hope you have a nice big batch of them!) I love the pin cushion, too - the lace is the perfect touch. So cute.

Wowza, those are the most adorable flats EVER! I am dying to know where you found 'em? ? ?
Spunky blog you have goin' here. If you lived closer (like, perhaps Long Beach, Cali), I think I'd make you my best friend. :) Hugs and smiles from the LBC.

Love the timer, too. Give it up Emily where did you get it?
Also, have you checked out simpleshoes.com? They have some cute flowery sneakers that I think you would like. I bought myself a pair and am thinking maybe another, too.
Take care, Emily!

Aaw, that timer is so cute.
Going back to the VW discussion. I bought a 04 Golf with 19K and I've put 40K on in in the last year and a half. It's holding up pretty well except for the front wheel bearing going out much earlier than usual which makes it loud in the car. I've been putting off fixing it because the repair is over $500. One thing, I find is maintenance is a drag and pricey. My Sweets drives a Beetle and insists we use the dealership for all repairs. The way I drive, I'm in there every few months. I would suggest the Golf if you want a station wagon. It is very roomy with the seats down and you can opt to put only one down. The mileage is better on hatchbacks than station wagons. If you can find a diesel model you can even convert it to a veggiemobile. I always have been a big Honda fan and only bought the VW because they don't have a hatchback anymore. VW's are cute and all but more high maintenance than I like.

I WANT is my whole response to every photo, well except for the cat as I am allergic. I'll try to change my feelings of envy to the more positive feeling of admire .. its rough though. I see I"m not the only one enamored with the timer.

Such a lot of goodness (I've got the three bird print on my wishlist as well) and now you're going 3D with the most gorgeous little ceramics! So very sweet, and covetable.
Alison · March 25, 2007 at 02:24 AM
your little cat has an awfully smart look to her, seriously...she seems smarter than other cats, look at that look.
stilettoheights · March 25, 2007 at 01:18 PM
Miette's expression reminds me of Puss in Boots from Shrek 2 kekeke - that wide, doe-eyed look he gives Shrek to convince his cuteness hehe.
Is he (Miette), an affectionate one? I actually recent adopted a kitten and am wondering if they grow even more affectionate (as of now, she's the type to sit by you, not in your lap).
Jeannie · March 25, 2007 at 09:30 PM
OH! I've been eying that timer over at fredflare.com for weeks....when I saw him on your list of goodies I had that deja vu sensation! : ) And your kitty is sweetness itself! : ) I love my kitties...I love ALL kitties!
Marjorie · March 26, 2007 at 10:55 AM
Include me among the multitudes who are dying to know more about the shoes. Who makes them? They're adorable!

lisa in virginia · March 26, 2007 at 03:51 PM
OK so I already thought you were my long lost twin sister a few months ago when I first discovered your art on ETSY. But lately im thinking maybe you're just me in another body (that writes a lot better.lol).Every time I check your blog you've posted something new that I myself have been looking for (ex. the Cram Cream Timer- where'd u find it?) or pics of your kitty (also my kitty's name, only she's alot older) or your thoughts on movies, books, etc...all of which I love or cherish as well...it's all a little freaky..as though you're reading my thoughts and blogging them! The only online showing of my artistic ability (or at least my attempt at it) is at JPG MAgazine: http://www.jpgmag.com/photos/100746
Jenn · March 27, 2007 at 04:22 PM
I'm also totally in love with those shoes. Following a hunch, I found them at anthropologie. :)
(All my shoes are Mary Janes, it's getting kind of creepy, as I never pick them out specifically because they ARE MJ's, I just love them too much, I guess)
Kelly Moore · March 27, 2007 at 07:24 PM
You have an amazing blog! Love all of this!!
