I'm working on designs for a new tote...this is my favorite idea so far! Oh, all the little hedgies, all in a row, holding hands. I'm thinking a nice chocolate brown ink on natural-colored canvas again, like the Hedgehog Hello totes from last year. Thoughts?
Also, have you seen the newest Superbuzzy fabrics?
They are amazing...I had to exercise some real restraint when placing a mini-order yesterday:
Crazy-good, right? Those girls are doing us such a service by providing all the cool Japanese stuff right here in the US! I'm thrilled about it, and so happy to support their endeavor.
I was really happy to hear from all of the other (possibly closeted) Forever 21 fans yesterday! Yeah, you have to sift through some trashy club-clothes...but there are some incredible finds to be had, and for so cheap!
I'm packing and shipping and listening to my beloved This American Life while rain patters on the roof, sometimes more violently than others, and I've got butter softening up in the kitchen, waiting to turn into oatmeal cookies. It's quiet and solitary.
It's more-than-kinda nice.

What a nice relaxing evening! My kids and DH are gone, it's just mmmmeeee with my computer allllll alone. Thinking out my to-do's for tomorrow (computer free friday for me), all sewing and crafting (with a side of grocery shopping at Trader Joe's ;) LOL)...
I LOVE the hedgies...LOVE them. And the fabrics too, those are awesome... are those all part of your mini-order? I am digging the elephants.
Oh, and F21, has GREAT tights ;) LOL and, since I currently have a love affair with skulls (lol), I have seen many a bra and panty in there that just tickles my fancy ;)

Rain on the roof and cookies sounds ideal. It's been raining here too--nice and cozy. The tote idea sounds great and the fabric is also--very cute.

Back from 15 hours straight of pottery. I am exhausted...The show looms and I am making making making....I can't stop....I wish I could sit in peace and hear the pitter patter of rain drops. I love that, it is so soothing...Off to bed in my cozy loftish space. Cannot move, and can hardly type. G'night, Sleep tight!

Those hedgies are adorable. Chocolate brown ink on a creamy canvas would look awesome.

Adorable hedgies, I'll definitely snatch up one of those totes. And I absolutely *love* This American Life, almost as much as A Prairie Home Companion. My perfect day is one at home, cooking and crafting, and listening to NPR.

YES TOTE BAGS!! It will be a mad dash to get one, but I was hoping you would again make them (as I had noticed the empty section in your shop called Totes, Etc, hehe :)
The fabric is also lovely, your creativeness is contagious, thank you!

I love the hedgehogs. They have the cutest expressions on their faces. My friend Dill has two pet hedgehogs named Furgo and Avis who protect her from fat lizards in Montana.

Sorry to comment twice, but thank you for mentioning the Superbuzzy fabrics, I have never heard of that site and I have been searching all week for cute fabric with clovers on it for a St.Patricks day dress, and I was having no luck finding the right thing. I just went to that site and they have really cute clover fabric with ladybugs

Gosh yes, those hedgies are perfect! If I grovel, can I reserve a tote? I'm never ever home when you do updates these days, alas!
Kate · March 02, 2007 at 08:53 AM
Superbuzzy does indeed rule. I love Mariko's blog too, she is always having 'beauty roundtables' to discuss the merits of various potions.
My only misgiving about Forever 21 is their sly religious inititative! If you only order online you wouldn't know about it but in the store, printed across the bottom of the bag is "JOHN 3:16". Not the whole scripture, just the verse. That is possibly the most famous scripture and the one that sums up Christianity pretty neatly and I couldn't believe I'd been an unwitting bulletin board for it. Bizarre, no?

I think you are getting the rain we got yesterday...almost two inches, ick.
enjoy the cookies, and your little hedgies are scrumptious.

Also, have you ever been to this site? I think you'd love it, especially the most recent post:

OMG, I LOVE the little hedgies all in a row and the top left corner fabric, dark colored one! Would make a perfect liner for the inside of the hedgies tote! I WANT one to use for a diaper bag for my daughter, SO CUTE!!!
Michelle · March 02, 2007 at 10:16 AM
Normally I would jump over to Superbuzzy + make a wild purchase after a post like this, but this time I MUST RESIST.
shona · March 02, 2007 at 10:21 AM
I am crazy for hegies and ellies. Love those fabrics. The birds are so pretty.
tiffany · March 02, 2007 at 10:59 AM
You always get so many comments that it often takes me as long to scroll down to make my own as it does to type it.
I had this thought, though I don't know if its feasible, but I thought it would be cute to get a chocolate brown tote with cream printing. A reverse of what you're thinking.
sarah · March 02, 2007 at 11:09 AM
LOVE the hedgies!! So cute! Can't wait to see the new bags.
Jennifer · March 02, 2007 at 12:03 PM
Hi Emily!
I think the hedgies-in-a-row will make a great bag design. I'm sure it will be a hit. I love the dolls too!
I think F21 is a great place to find deals if you're patient. Lots of dancers also go there to look for affordable tops/dresses that could make nice costumes.

I was just checking out the fabric the other day at Super Buzzy, too. I love that elephant print. Henry uses your canvas hedgehog bag for playdates with friends and library books!
