What a good weekend! And it's not over yet...there is still more needlin' to do this afternoon.
My fingers have been so itchy every time I've had to break from the felting for the last few days...to say, do laundry.
Make some lunch.
Pack & ship orders.
Dratted chores! I love you and need you but...
Well, the fact is that you're standing between me and fuzzy bunnies. And that will never do. Bunnies like this one:
Oh...and I seem to be forgetting a little someone!
It's feeling like this place around here these days.
I watched a couple of movies this weekend...one super-bad one at the cineplex with my Jenny that doesn't-even-deserve-linking to, and Leon, aka The Professional. Why didn't anyone (this means you, boyfriend) warn me? I loved it, but it is. so. SAD.
Thanks for all the skunky-love! And for inquiring minds, these little guys will be part of a big, fun shop update (which will be heavy on dolls + creatures, and a little lighter on the paintings probably). A nice change of pace. Huzzah for creatures!

Mama Urchin · February 25, 2007 at 03:42 PM
I just love the bunnies! I have 3 favorites; they are the first, second, and the white one with red eyes! Wish I could hang out and watch you make them, so that I'd know how to make these, too. :) My two-year-old daughter would love one.
Looks like a great change of pace, making these creatures and dolls. What a great way to make a living!

Those little guys are so, poke-your-eyes-out cute I can't stand it. I love how the first two look like they're cocking their little heads.
Cara · February 25, 2007 at 05:17 PM
Oh, these critters are oh so very cute! Little wonder you didnt want to be interupted! Why dosent the world stop when we are crafting - would be nice =)
Melly · February 25, 2007 at 05:30 PM
Oooh!!! Too cute!
These creations of yours really inspire me to put needle felting on my things to learn list!
ismoyo · February 25, 2007 at 05:42 PM
I love these. It's great how they all seem to have their own personalities. You've totally inspired me to get a kit and try some felting myself!

Ohmygod the bunnies! They are sooooooooooooo cute! Eeeee!!! I love them! And their little outfits? So sweet!
And about Leon/The Professional, I kinda thought that Mathilda would be right up your alley. She's a bit reminiscent of the lovelies you paint.
Maritza · February 25, 2007 at 08:23 PM
The bunnies are gorgeous!
I dislike it when you get right into doing something and you have to stop. Of course there are some necessary evils we have to stop for, but sometimes it can get frustrating.
Really love those bunnies
Tatania · February 25, 2007 at 08:28 PM
I could just pass out because they are just too cute. I was unable to get the the website were ya'll brought the supplies. So is there anyway you can post it again. I would love to make some Doxies.

jill · February 26, 2007 at 12:28 AM
Crap! I am a sucker for all things squirrel! Also, I feel that way about 'Dancer in the Dark'--it is so lovely but I can't bring myself to watch it a second time because it's so horrifically sad. I cried so hard I got the hiccups!
Cirilia · February 26, 2007 at 01:21 AM
You were definitely born with a highly evolved ability to make anything cute. Those outfits!
Helen · February 26, 2007 at 01:30 AM

They're fab! (especially the one with the red top). You seem to be so prolific at making your creations, well done you!
Cat · February 26, 2007 at 07:40 AM
oh emily! those bunnies are just adorable. i couldn't help but yell, "ohhhhh!" out loud when i saw them. and i keep looking back. if i were you i wouldn't be able to get anything done. i would just want to play with bunnies all day long. i wonder if they will reproduce as fast as the bunnnied in the pet store i pass on my way to work? everyday it seems like there are 100 more bunnies in there.
risa · February 26, 2007 at 08:52 AM
wow, you're some kinda quick study, huh? i can't believe you've only been doing this for, what, 4 days now?
i love them all!
Diane Duda · February 26, 2007 at 09:00 AM
the bunnies are adorable as they come...though I have a weakness for bunnies as well as foxes, or little dogs with a "foxy face".
I am dying to know what movie you saw that was so bad you didn't even want to mention it!!!!!!
stilettoheights · February 26, 2007 at 09:03 AM
Must stalk the bunnies! Must have one for the nursery!! :O)
Leon ripped my heart out BIG time! I did not see that coming and was an absolute mess!
Jenny Rebecca · February 26, 2007 at 09:15 AM
I had the most bizarre dream in which felted skunks wore crowns and tu-tus and eerily danced in a circle, like ring around the rosies. And, I think since the folklore about said song scares me, it turned into a bit of a scary yet interesting dream. And, there was a mean queenish clown. Have you placed the little crown I crafted on Mr. Mouse? I think we would love to see him in all his pomp and glory living the Emily Life with all the critters!! Yipee!!!
Vanessa · February 26, 2007 at 09:58 AM
gasp!!!
Did you needlefelt while watching the red carpet last night? No Exene, but good people watching, no?
Blair · February 26, 2007 at 09:58 AM
You are a superb marketer and writer of blogs...smile
Also, loved the Grey Gardens-I want to be a "Staunch Character"! I also rented Brideshead Revisited-set in WW2 with a young Jeremy Irons-it's an old PBS series from the '80's.
Julie Brunner · February 26, 2007 at 10:44 AM
just lovely, emily.
kerry : k8tykat · February 26, 2007 at 10:51 AM

Tricia · February 26, 2007 at 01:51 PM
Is it strange to say that I'd love to be friends with you, because you're absolutely awesome.
It seems everything you touch turns to gold, or in your case everything you touch turns to mind-boggingly adorableness.
I love the first little bunny best, he's so chubby and stylish.
Nicole · February 26, 2007 at 01:54 PM
The bunnies are so cute!
chantal · February 26, 2007 at 01:59 PM

i might just have to commission a few of those squirrels for my shop. Are you interested?
Am I still planning you for a show in November? I really need a firm update as to what you think.
kind regards!
Jessica · February 26, 2007 at 04:32 PM
I love these so much! Just like everyone else - so I went to the library to find books on needle felting - no use.....I went to Barnes and Noble and found a magazine :
Craft: transforming traditional crafts
It is so cool and has a felted bowl of fruit on the cover! Craftzine.com
I hope I can figure this out and make some of those bunnies myself....
Thanks for the inspiration!
Melanie · February 26, 2007 at 05:49 PM

This is the first time I hear about needle felting, I guess I'll have to start a new hobby, if I want to make cute fellows like this!
Never seen anything as cute...
