1 Beautiful, beautiful carved-and-victorian-and-terribly-rickety (a hilarious word that I love)
chair. The sensible man at my favorite thrift store made sure to remind me "This chair is broken. Do you know that? That's why I'm selling it to you for $1". I responded that "that's okay, I know. It's only for decoration". I know he was thinking: this girl is an idiot for lugging home broken, rickety old chairs "for decoration".
and
1 Hilarious and wonderful white ceramic "goose-head" who is going to just be named "Mr. Goose". I don't have the whimsy in me right now to give him a proper name. But he does wear my favorite scarf well, doesn't he? The whole display looks very Goreyesque to me.
and
3 Wonderful, sturdy wooden dining chairs. These I was so grateful for! I was a little miffed and suprised at how expensive nondescript wooden dining chairs are when bought new... even from Target, it seemed like I was looking at about $100 a chair! I painted them a gorgeous cherry red today, but when I tried to photograph them out-of-doors where the painting was taking place, I found that I had what we in the painting business call "spraypaint hand-palsy" and I couldn't get a non-shaky image. You'll see them soon, though.
and
12 lovely wool sweaters which are all felted (some came "pre-felted" for me! Thanks, people who wash and dry their wool sweaters!) and ready to be stitched up into an Alicia-style stocking garland, when the time comes.
Happy Weekend, sweet peas.

The goose head is fantastic. What a different, pretty piece. And the scarf is the perfect complement to it.

We had the exact same goose (maybe with blue eyes) as a towel hook in the kitchen of my parent's house. My mom probably sitll had it somewhere, so funny.

You have the aparment I want! Lovely colors and it looks spacious too? My apartment is vintage 80's prefab and all my lovely vintage items rest against plain old apartment almond walls. Sigh. Since I am going to be here for a while I should just suck it up and paint something!! Oh and thrift chairs(the sturdy kind that you can use) are just the biggest blessing because yes- there are no cheap chairs. Even the ugly ones are expensive.

I love how that dark wood chair pops against the beautiful blue walls and that white trim. I Can't wait to see more sneak peaks.
