This was a good weekend for working...I feel very excited about alot of things in my life right now, and at the toppermost of that list is my work! I decided that I really wanted to try to make a 3-D one of my "girls", a combination of my paintings and my dolls/softies. So she's made, and she's so nice and big and adorable...and a wee bit creepy. But I love her. It's one of those projects that you finish, and you keep going back to peep at because you're so darn proud/in love.
I just posted her here, in the shop. She has the tiniest of buttons "fastening" her maryjanes & I love her teeny, tiny sweater, which is one of my favorite colors, and was fashioned out of a (now deceased) old cardigan of mine. Tiny sweaters! Love! Does anyone remember those teeny sweaters that Anthropologie was selling as christmas ornaments last year? Love, love, love.
I also went on a bit of a tote making spree, all of which are in the shop now!
These bags are all stitched out of some lovely fabric or another and this wonderful chocolate/plummy deep brown faux leather that I am addicted to using at the moment. I whipped up another fall bag for myself last weekend, and I do need to get around to photographing it so you guys can see it. I think you would like it.
Well, I hate to run so quickly since we haven't chatted too terrible much lately, but I have quite a lengthy To Do list that is calling my name. Only one thing checked off, and it is already 1:30 pm here! I hope everyone's weekends were lovely...mine was very quiet and sleepy and consisted of a great deal of Carnivale Seas. 2 watching, and stitch-witchery. Two of my favorite things :)

She is amazing. If I wasn't so broke and did not have two kids that would destroy her I would have snatched her up by now.
We are finally getting an Anthropologie in the San Diego area next month sometime. They are opening a brand new mall here in Chula Vista sometime in October and Anthrolpologie is on the list of stores. I have only been there once in Santa Monica and i was totally amazing.
Your doll is to great!

The paintings, the doll, and the bags - is there anything you can't create? She is particularly lovely but those bags are so autumnal, I love them too. Carniavale is so nice, and so big, and a wee bit creepy, maybe that's what you're feeling because the doll is just great.

Oh she is just heavenly! I visit your blog almost every day and I agree with the previous comment, she is the most wonderful thing you have created yet. I guess it helps that I have a weakness for dolls, mary-janes and all things Black apple. Arghh, I wish you had made her a few months ago so I could have bought her for my daughter's birthday. Please make more so I can buy one for 'my' birthday when it comes around.

i had a weird dream last night that Black Apple merch had made its way into the mainstream. I was walking through Target and there was a whole Black Apple section, with note cards, notebooks, valentines day cards and little packaged prints. it was so strange! i thought to myself, "wow, she didn't mention this on her blog!" hahaha! anything you want to tell us??? ;)

WoW! I love these bags. They are my favorite yet. If I can ever climb out of the whole school clothes and art supplies put me in I would love to buy one. I am sure they will be sold but I trust you to keep them coming.

Carnivale Season 2...I was so sad to see it all end. It was quite the bonding experience for Peter and me. Loved every minute of every episode. We must talk.
