On being a dud...

August 18, 2006 · The Magic Sock (A Random Assortment)

No, I didn't throw myself off of the B.Q.E. because of the "unpleasantness" of Alison's dismissal from P.R. (Though I felt like it in the moment that I made my post that night!)

I'm alive and well, but as far as anything fun, exciting, illuminating to share, sometimes you just have to call it a bit of a flop. Your week, that is... Or I do, at least!

Let's recap what I managed to accomplish this week, shall we?
1.) Lots and lots of Post Office'ing, which is productive, but not fun or creative.
2.) Delicious chocolate chip cookie making on Wednesday night with Sarah and Elizabeth
3.) A little bit of good and less good painting
4.) Wrapping up the netflix'd season 1 of Carnivale, for the second time. I actually cried a bit at the end...I love that show so much. More than I should.
5.) Stitching up these sweet little button flower brooches for myself and friends:

and 6.) Binging rather grotesquely on the fall issues of some beloved magazines:

I know it's a problem.

So, I feel better now that I've laid out for you exactly what a wastrel I've been the past 5 days. That means that this weekend will be better! Right?
Right.

Happy Fridays, and future Saturdays and Sundays my dears.

Carnivale, I miss trhat show. I mean the creepiness got to me sometimes but wow, I've never seen anything quite like it. The button brooches are quite nice.

Emily! You have accomplished more in your few "wastrel" days than I have in at the last month! I love the button brooches and miss Hobby-Lobbying with you...

1405 items sold! you're amazing, little lady.

Those little buttons turned out sooo cute! Cute as a button. Ha ha!

Ha, I posted an almost identical picture of a magazine pile on my blog this week. I definitely understand the feeling of guilt...it's such a "waste" but I can't help it! I resisted buying the new 1 billion page Vogue with Kirsten Dunst in character as M. Antoinette because carrying it on my walking commute would've caused injury.

In case I haven't commented before, hello, I'm a customer and secret admirer.
