I thought I would continue the theme of fluke-lovely things from Forever21, with this little deep green wool capelet/jacket. I love it!
I found it at the Union Sq. store when I was in New York last February, and it's part of my sometimes tendency to gravitate towards clothing that would best be accessorized with a cross-bow.
Or a horse-drawn carriage.

Me being blown around by the wind!
All of your comments from the last post cracked me up...it seems like lots of us have the same penchant for braving that ridiculous place.
PS: : You know that this is not a sociopolitical blog. That is not what this blog is for, and truly, I'm just not interested in a lecture on or discourse about the morality of shopping within the confines of this little world. However, I received an email today that addressed quite critically a topic I knew would rear its head eventually. So, let's just get this out of the way.
On the subject of F21, and every other major retailer discussed here, these are my thoughts: I am not an ostrich with my head in the sand, and I do know that most every chain retailer uses dubious factory production and knocks off other designers (the clothes carried at many independent boutiques are no different). Do I feel guilty about this situation? Sure. Of course. It's because I don't have the willpower to stay away from them entirely (and attempt to wear clothes sewn exclusively by Etsy sellers woven from the wool of their very own personal sheep) that I have a capelet such as this, and, well, 90% of my wardrobe. Everyone make choices, hopefully informed ones, with their purchasing power. It's my opinion that a judgmental attitude concerning these personal choices, particularly judgment that hides behind the anonymity of the internet, is unbecoming and nonconstructive...and perhaps just as unscrupulous as buying a jacket at Forever21.
