Two Kinds of Green

I really like pairing two variations of the same color together...and this stitchy, cropped cardigan and washed silk slip-dress seemed just right for this very Spring-y day. I dyed the slip myself about a month ago, and have been wearing it constantly in all its chartreuse glory!

And I set it off with one of the red bobby pins I was going crazy for over on the big blog yesterday (and my red button shoes).

Happy Spring!

I have a necklace pendant that looks just like that pin that I got on ETSY. I adore it!!!!!!

Great colours! I've got a white slip-dress (well, it's actually a Victorian slip, and it's an aged white rather than a pure white), and I dug it out today to try and figure out way to wear it out in public. I think the tights and cardigan combination may be the way to go :)

Susan · March 27, 2008 at 03:29 AM

You look gorgeous. Green is my favourite colour and you wear it well. The red accents go down a treat too.

Gervy · March 27, 2008 at 05:24 AM

i knew i'd seen it before...
the sweater emily is wearing on the martha show is from a previous blog :

I want that cardigan! And the dress, and the pantyhose and the shoes. It looks great on you, especially with that haircut! x

Babetje · March 27, 2008 at 09:10 AM

Yay! I'm so glad you posted to this blog. I've been eagerly awaiting posts for it. I love your style.

I saw & remembered the sweater you wore on Martha...how on earth did you pick an outfit? It would have been tough for me. Couldn't see what else you wore on the show, but I'm guessing you had some cute shoes on. Care to share?

I adore that hair clip! And your hair is great. Does it naturally curl like that or do you curl the ends?

How do you do the slip in public - it always feels so shear...do you wear two? or are you able to find some that are more...substantial? maybe i'm just shy....?

Love the outfit...I love chartruese...and red together...so darling and daring a combo!!! Thanks for the Target Red lipstick tip...got some today (on sale, incidentally)...yummy.

I wish so much that I could articulate my identity as well as you do with your clothing. I work as a school teacher in a high school and always feel out of place when I dress the way my heart feels. Most around here settle for track pants and a school logo sweatshirt. I want barrettes and cardigans and twirly, twirly skirts.

Rachel · March 27, 2008 at 09:22 PM

chartreuse--my very favorite color.

adorable, as always! =)

im loving the chartruse dye. we have this great antique vendor here in the bay area at the Alameda Flea who travels from Washington to sell all of her vintage slips dyed in aray of sherbet toned colors. if i could just figure out how to do polka dots w/o it bleeding, that'd be great.

sanriofreak · March 27, 2008 at 10:45 PM

I have been loving cropped sweaters lately & I adore seeing how other people pull them off - well done!
