The Restless Stroll Approx 12"x12"x1.5" Acrylic on metal/found decorative plate
I've never painted on metal before, but I loved the old printed tin I found at the thrift store (it originally depicted a girl with an enormous bonnet), so I accepted the challenge. I rather liked painting on the slick surface, which was a surprise. It's difficult (there is nothing to "catch" the paint, like the tooth of paper or the tiny nubs of a canvas). I also think it's a little bit of a shift for my work, but not a very dramatic one. This painting has been finished for weeks, but I hadn't photographed it til' today! I'm not sure if that's because of it's different-ness, or my laziness.
I hope everyone had a nice weekend! Mine was nice + quiet, with painting, cooking, sleeping and some strolling of my own.
