We cast our ballots via mail last week, and while at first I thought that was a neat "Oregon-way-of-doing-things", I now feel a little cheated. I suppose I just feel like I'm missing out on the feeling of citizenship and ebullience I've always experienced after the going to the voting booths.
But I think it's really more about the sticker. There IS no sticker when you vote via USPS.
I always really love the feeling of going around through your day, going to work, school, the grocery store, and seeing lots of people of all stripes with their little sticker on. It's just one of those things.
I still loved voting, it just wasn't the communal experience I'm used to. I'm so excited/anxious for tonight, and for the election to be over!
