I think lots of people are stressed about the elections right now, and are ready for it to be over and done with. I know I am...so I'm seeking solace in things like buttons. I got to go to a behemoth antique show on Sunday, and nabbed lots of neat little things...much of the crafty stuff coming from one lady with a huge booth full of exclusively vintage fabrics and trims.
I'm not a haggler, so it was funny that all of these little ladies kept giving me "deals". I'd say: "So this is $14?", and the lady would just haggle internally (I suppose) and come up with "How about $10?".
It was very cute.
Here is the special button haul:
I think I'm going to make the acorn into a charm, and the rest will go in the "special buttons just for looking" shadowbox.
The "Button Lady" (who did NOT give me a one-sided-haggle-deal, incidentally) but was charming and sweet, had boxes and boxes and boxes full of carded vintage buttons.
The were all very specifically "themed"...like, for example, can you tell what the theme of this card was?
It was my favorite of all the cards!
Well, I have to go bake, bake, bake. I have four things to bake in 6 hours, so I think that's do-able, right? Our pumpkin-carving-jamboree is tonight, so I have to hop quick like a bunny to make the tasty food that was promised to our guests.
Happy Halloween-Eve, lovely applets!
