Two Tots

September 14, 2008 · Artsy (Mine)

Hey, thanks for all that studio-love! I'm glad you like the little place. It makes me very happy to be in there...it's like a soothing little closet-get-away filled with things I like.

It's a tricky balance to surround oneself with things (toys, doo-dads, what-not) that you love, without feeling that they overwhelm you. I love a small amount of cute clutter, but I do hate when it starts to feel like it could rise up and swallow you.
Oh! Also,  paint color in the studio.  Some folks asked, and guys: I'm sorry to disappoint, but I just don't know. I used to get that question all the time when I was in the Athens apartment, and I could never give a satisfactory answer (because I had no idea). This go-'round, we painted the house entirely in colors from Home Depot, and I didn't hold onto the chips 'cause that's just one more thing to keep up with.

I will share more photos of the dollhouse soon, next up will probably be the living/dining room...as the kitchen is being remodeled next week, and our bedroom is my current decorating project. But soon!

For this afternoon, I have two smaller new pieces that I realized I hadn't blogged yet (I also have a handful of larger new paintings that need to be photographed or scanned soon!)

I had such a quiet, majestic day yesterday, and today is looking good, too. Lots of dolls are waiting to come completely to life, so that's the task for this Sunday afternoon ahead!
