"When you're walking down the street, and you see a little ghost"...

June 07, 2008 · Dolls

Did anyone else think that little song was pretty much the highlight of Be Kind Rewind?  I mean, besides the Fats Waller "biopic"?

So it looks like Tuesday's update is shaping up to be a very haunted one, and here's a pretty fantastic addition to the ghost-party.
Remember when I mentioned a new "marsupial" doll?

What could be hiding in there, peeping out with those two little beady eyes?

Ah HA!

I'm about half-way through the new David Sedaris book, and I semi-accidentally bought $14.95 worth of cherries, so this weekend is shaping up to be a pretty nice one.

More painting, and some more dollies to photograph & I'll see you soon!

Will you be selling these at all? I think I might die if I can't have one to sit on my bed....

I was just looking at your prints on etsy and came across your Lydia painting and thought you might like to listen to this song by Fur Patrol called 'Lydia':

Hi there! Love your little doll. It puts me in mind of that one White Stripes song "Little Ghost, Little Ghost who I'm scared of the most, wont you scare me up a little bit o' love?". Have you heard it?
I think a little White Stripes doll would be awesome. :)

Congrats on your success with Etsy..and being on the Martha show..so cool! I just started selling vintage on etsy in April and have been doing pretty well..not well enough to have martha invite me on her show, bit ok! If you have any pointers for newbies, I would appreciate it! Love your shop!

I love love love David Sedaris.

Oh snap...there's a new David Sedaris book?? Like, now? Where've I been?

What kind of a noise do you think your ghost would make? A kind of traditional "WWwOoooooh!" or more of an "eeeeeeh!"?

brigette b. · June 08, 2008 at 01:00 PM

How adorable can you get! So sweet!

jenn · June 08, 2008 at 09:19 AM

These would make great gifts, or a gift for myself. How tall is she?

Love the "Be Kind Rewind" reference. Certainly one of the sweet bites of that flick. Cute, happy doll. Guess we all travel with ghosts of some sort. Here's hoping they can all be happy ones!

Ghosts are always my fav @ Halloween, but these little guys are the cutest for all year long :)

Reminds me a bit like your creeping dunce painting with the ghostie creeping out of her, LOVE IT!

Have a Lovely Weekend!

SO CUTE! It'd be cute to decorate with these little ghosts at Halloween. :)

Jessica · June 07, 2008 at 06:47 PM

David Sedaris is my fav. author and I hope to get to that new one next weekend while visiting relatives in Seattle. Cute doll and ghost:)

Du Buh Du Designs · June 07, 2008 at 06:30 PM

I am laughing about the cherries. I have done that too. I absent-mindedly assume that one bag is one pound and then am surprised at the register.

I'm thinking about picking up the Sedaris book too ...

Becca · June 07, 2008 at 06:07 PM

Oooh I am dying to read the new David Sedaris.

And I have fallen victim to the cherry accident before, too. Except it was at Whole Foods, so it was like $20 worth of cherries!

Angela · June 07, 2008 at 06:03 PM

Wondering what put ghosts on your mind? Are the spooks in your apartment getting restless as they figure out you're leaving?

Yum, I don't know which I want more the cherries or the book!

Lotta · June 07, 2008 at 04:59 PM

That's the cutest little spirit!
I think these new "marsupial" dolls are so original! ;)

Francesca · June 07, 2008 at 04:18 PM
