The Black Apple › Inside A Black Apple

Afternoon of the Faun

March 08, 2008 · Artsy (Mine)

I set my studio to rights this week (after "Hurricane Martha" ravaged it last week) and I'm back to working on paintings.

I'm rounding out the Flora and Fauna theme I've been working with recently, and this (large, for me) painting is of that sensibility:

Afternoon1
Afternoon of the Faun    16"x20"x2"        Acrylic on canvas

Afternoon2

We have a busy weekend ahead (plays, birthdays, etc.), so I have to unplug myself from the computer.
Happy Saturday!

Wow i really am feeling this theme you have going on but maybe because I am just partail to the whole naturey stuff. Ever do a Black Apple spin on Snow White? Though what I would really like to see is your take on Marie Antoinette :)

Oh, and speaking of naturey check out this gazebo. It is sooo dreamy

Did you ever go to the Swan house in Georgia?

The fawn is adorable! And I love how gentle she is with him. Very nice indeed! :)

I so love the twilight light you have captured in this painting. It really adds to the pensive look of the girl and deer. Another beautiful work. Hugs.

Oh. My. God. She is beautiful. I have a soft spot for fawns and this just melted my heart.

Wonderful.

I just wanted to say that your blog is one of a kind: you manage to be cute without being childish, clean but not corny, melancholy but not negative, and you make eveything just so pretty. I love your blog so so so much:)

I love Faun's little smile. Also had to share the news that I received one of your mirrors for a going away present from a work colleague. I introduced her to your shop and I'm glad I did! Yay for pretty things. xx
