Caty Creepeth 11"x25"x1 Acrylic on wood plaque
I was looking through some old Belle & Sebastian liner notes the other day, which are really marvelous reading when one is stranded in a car. Stuart Murdoch was deliberating one what his favorite word was, and he came up with "Creepeth". I don't think this word has been in the popular vernacular since biblical times, but nevertheless, it is a great word. It's almost onomatopoeic.
So, it's in the name of my new painting, which is quite large (for me). It's on a similar plaque to the one that The Twins was painted on, and I really love the shape.
Shop update on Tuesday, as it says above in the pretty green circus-font! Huzzah! I have some smaller paintings and a batch of dolls to wrap up between now and then, but I know already it's going to be a really good one!
Happy Wednesday, Applet dears.

It's lovely, but is it sofa-sized? Because I only buy sofa-sized art. ;)

I love how you can tell that they're mice from the silhouette-so simple yet distinguished

Oooh, shudder, I like it but it reminds me of The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, which is a positively creepy story about a woman who basically goes insane from boredom (back in the days when women were "best kept" unoccupied) and creeps around the room. Blah, it gives me the creeps just thinking about it. Your painting is infinitely more cheerful.

Caty is so eerie-cute. I hope there will be cameo pins in the shop update!

I can't wait! I hope I can pick up a painting this time--thankfully I'm not in class until later. And I love the little girl above and her mice. I also love the way you use the space.

I think this is my favourite ever of your work, giggled as soon as I saw it and I loved the movement in it! Congrats! (and it de-lurked me as well) xx
