Honey Bear

Another sweet pea that will be part of the shop update tomorrow at 2:00 EST. Her hair is made of a beautiful light blue merino roving (there will be another little chubby doll who also has roving for hair...of a nice cotton-candy shade of pink!).

I've been sewing all day today, and am feeling a teensy bit overwhelmed about tomorrow's update...because I've accumulated so much over the last few weeks that needs to be included. Plus I've got my regular shipping to do, all of which is making The Black Apple a kinda hectic place of employment these last few days (and I'm sure tomorrow will be that way, too). It certainly is ideal about 90% of the time, but then I pull several days of "15 hour" shifts, and I really do start to feel like an employee. And an employer.
However, there is lots of goodness to show for it...a handful of paintings and drawings, a small army of needle-felted creatures, and 6 or 7 dolls of different varieties. Whew! Sometimes I feel like such a slacker when I see what my pal Heidi has accomplished in a day or two (piles and piles and piles of plush) but on days like today, I feel pretty un-slackerly.
And that feels so good...even if I also simultaneously feel like an overworked employee of myself.

(insert happy + tired sigh here)

I solemnly promise (holding right hand up) that I do not spend my life on the computer. It just seems that every time I am roaming while resting my brain, I stop in, and I miraculously see a new post and have something to say!!!I don't even have that bloglines thing....Too complex for me yet...

And, I do have something to say!! Hurray!!!! Your little Honey Bear is precious!!!! Well, I certainly understand about the employer employee situation....But, as I tell my dear little surrealist friend Dino, be happy we do not have an evil employer making us feel like munchkin rejects....I want to be a happy munchkin....And, if I am the only one holding the whip, I am happy....Hugs hugs hugs...Vanessa

I made the big mistake of showing my daughter the plush doughnuts over at The Paper Crane...forgot about the fact that I promised her one and there was only one left just now...thanks for the reminder. Though it's just going to make me want doughnuts, every day. On the other hand, I am very much looking forward to your shop update tomorrow and hope this time I can come away with something! Preferably the tree painting! But there are so many cute things, it looks like. And it will be well worth the stress to you when those cute shoes arrive. I too am working at home, and late, but there are definitely the perks of not having to dress up for the office etc.

I love your honey bear, her eyes are so expressive, a little tear filled, I guess she's a pensive one? x.

I don't know how you do it all Emily, my one woman empire is not as large as yours and I find it hard to keep up sometimes.

xoxo- good luck today!

i am always impressed by how much you produce. and i am totally jealous of all of the women who will be in front of a computer at 2 to snap up some of your latest creations. i will be sitting in front of my spanish instructor practicing some of the new and more complex phrases i have been studying. in the back of my mind i will be thinking about adorable felted creatures and candy-colored hair made out of merino roving. :)

Cute doll! I'm still trying to figure out what you could do with the bear body... Maybe a little girl in bear pjs?

Just checked out your Etsy shop...love your prints! I also just read your name contest post, which I know is over, but I commented anyway =]

My god!!! You will never be a slacker! x

You know a friend of mine once had pink hair which she wore straight to her shoulders with a headband like Alice and it was actually really cute on her. Normally, I am not really for pink hair, but there are always exceptions. :)

Humble suggestion. Maybe some of the cute softies could go on Ebay on a seven day listing sometime, they went so fast today, I didn't really get to see them.

It is all so cute! You are amazing! :)
