Plaidish + Tired

November 30, 2006 · About Me (Mostly)

Plaid

Good grief, it is Thursday already! I am currently so tired (I keep having bad dreams, which leave me feeling rather zombie-like) and I'm in the midst of getting an enormous amount of orders out to the P.O. later on this afternoon. I'm not sure exactly how many yet, but I think it's verging on triple digits, and it is just exhausting. I've been watching season 2 of the American version of The Office  (which I have resisted out of love + respect for the original) whilst packaging madly and holy smokes! Has anyone seen the "Holiday Party" episode?! It is brilliant.
Also, last night after my lovely gaggle of dinner guests left (I ended up going with the Pizza Rustica from How to Be a Domestic Goddess, by the way, which is very easy but seems accomplished) I listened to some more from the NPR archives and I found this wonderful interview with J.P. Jeunet. He is just the loveliest of the lovelies. If you are a fan, go listen. It will make you happy. Or make you happy AND make your eyes teary like mine...

I'm sorry that there are no dolls for today, and likely won't be until after the weekend. I have to concern myself with much less fun things for the moment... Also, I expect the pendants soon, and will let you know the moment they are posted in the shop. I feel like a dissapointer, but I'm just trying to keep from getting overwhelmed with the burgeoning Christmas orders and such. I'm easily overwhelmed. Well, that's not always true. Yes, it is. Back to work for this elf!

Oh, I love Jeunet! I will have to listen when I get home from work...

& the petticoat under the plaid is just perfect.

The holdiay party of the old Office totally rules! I can watch that over and over! The new one is good, but nothing compares to the first!

I love that episode...where he just snaps the photo and walks out! I just watched a new episode tonight. I can't believe my husband is able to watch it. He usually can't watch shows with uncomfortable situations. And of course Michael Scott is just one big walking uncomfortable situation.

Loved Sleepy Jean!

Oh my god, I love The Office-- both versions. Though I felt the same loyalty so it took me a while to get into the American one. But now I think its amazing.
I've been reading your blog for a while and its so great. I'm moving to a new apartment tomorrow and all your pretty pictures are so inspiring.
Have you seen those tree sheets from Garnet Hill? Since you can't have that amazing tree bed (yet) you should check out these flannel "forest sheets."

Thanks for the lovely reads!

I was at the post office today and saw this sign that said they have postal workers who will come to your house to pick up packages for the holidays!...for FREE! Miss Black Apple- you really must investigate this! Triple digits! You must be EXHAUSTED! Great work!

I am shocked that after everything you have to do and have had to do you can still look amazingly cute and rock out in lovely plaid!

Love your skirt combo. My daughter went straight to her closet to put together her own version of the Emily skirt. See you still can inspire even when your overwhelmed. I can't wait for the dollies.

I get those horrid dreams at this time of year aswell.I think it's to do with the fading light. They seem so vivid and I always wake up so emotional and heavy.
That skirt combintaion must make you smile though! You remind me so much of one of my sisters she would love you!(so do I!!!)

Emily, first off, that is the cutest picture of you and your skirt, secondly, we restrained ourselves from the American version of The Office for the same reasons, but now are loving it (did you get to the episode about the office Olympics). Thirdish, triple digits?! I was getting a little crazy with 7! Fourthness, if I don't get one of those pendants that I love (the tree one) this time around, I think I may have to fly to GA myself.

I love the Office--love them both, actually--and I love how different [how much its own] the American Office is.

The plaid skirt-over-petticoat look is lovely.
