One of my very favorite comic book ladies is Nicole Georges, of "Invincible Summer" fame. She named her many-issued comic that because of this quote:
In the midst of winter, I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer. -Albert Camus
I realized today, as it is lingering in the wonderful, wonderful weather that is 60's temperature-wise that there is in me an Invincible Autumn. I love it so much. I carry it around with me through all of the other months. I only love Spring when she pretends to be Autumn. I enjoy Georgia Winters because they are one long Autumn. And it's returning to New York as we speak...the beginning traces of it are beginning to course through the city, and I couldn't be more happy. In celebration of this, and to hasten it's arrival, I stitched this dolly last night while watching the movie:
Isn't she the cutest? She's here, of course.
Alright, back to hot chai drinking and cozy book reading and general pretending-it's-really-Fall. Because it always is, with me.

Me too! It's the smell of the air, the changing of the light and the fact that I was born in autumn that makes me love it so much. Autumn people are very sensitive about those things..

I could not agree more! I was just talking with friends the other day-and i was saying how i was born not to be human, but to be the month of October.. I want to be october: the source of halloween, crispy leaves, pumpkins and cherished memories/feelings of all things fall. Caramel apples, cider, orange and black.. i could go on forever :)

It's still hotter then, well, something really hot, here where I live, but I'm living as if it's fall, LOL. We just put up dark green heavy curtains in the office in preparation for keeping out winter drafts, and I've been enjoying a fleece nightshirt when it's cool enough... Just hoping for the weather to cool down and it to be fall for real.

I feel the same way too. Autumn is so short where I live but I savour every moment and spend the rest of the year waiting for its return.

I'm also an autumn lover and this news about Georgia winters is quite thrilling to me.
And you squirrel girl would be as good as sold (to me!) were it not for the fact that my wallet contains one lone cartoon fly this week.
