blah blah blah!

August 24, 2006 · The Magic Sock (A Random Assortment)

So, Project Runway. It's kind of been like holding a sparkler on the fourth of July for me this year...it's just been fizzling, and spitting sparks, and eventually feeling like a let-down that is in danger of burning my hand off. I will keep watching it (you know I will!) until the end, but at this point, all of my faves are gone. Mind you, those are my totally subjective/personality faves...Malan (sniff), Alison (double sniff), and now tonight's axe. Don't get me wrong, I think Michael is unbelievably wonderful, and talented, and should win, I just don't have an irrational attachment to him like I did with...say...some other-now-eliminated folks.

This was a great challenge...I loved the challenge. But is it just me, or was this episode just kind of depressing in a wierd way? I think it kind of set the tone for me when the moms were picked clearly in order of convential attractiveness/skinniness. I was really suprised about that.
Ugh.

I did make some cute drawings while watching the show:

Acorn2_1 Wings2

They're both up in the shop as of now. I'm really loving hair that turns into words these days...

I think the only thing really saving the show this year is the challenges. I don't think the designers are as talented as they have been in the past and I am not really a huge fan of any of them. I will keep watching because what else could I do!

do you make squirrels? I would buy a print with a squirrel lady?

I agree, great challenge executed in a kind of depressing way. I'm glad Michael didn't win since he had the only young and thin model (although I really liked his look). And while I didn't love Robert I still really liked him and I certainly have a list of names I'd have preferred to see auf'd. Well, here's to hoping next week is better.

I can't believe they brought in family members! Was Angela's mom as crazy as she is??? I hate that Robert's out. I liked him :( I can't believe Vincent is STILL around. I think I agree with Tim Gunn that Uli's design should've won.

excellent analogy for the show. fizzle fizzle. blah. I hated that they couldn't work with their own moms. and vincent? vincent?! ugh.

how cute are those little acorn hats! those cheer me up :)

You're right, last nights episode was a bit depressing - I'm not sure why. I was a huge Alison fan until I read this interview with her in Entertainment Weekly (http://www.ew.com/ew/report/0,6115,1228212_3||321057|0_0_,00.html) - her comments on the model's size and weight left a bad taste in my mouth. Have you read it?

You are awesome, Young Lady: You are such an inspiration. Keep up the great work!

I just kinda randomly found you and am a huge fan of your work. I could not agree more about this season of PR. what a letdown. Alison was my fave and nobody who should get kicked off is anyway.. sorry to rant. P.S. I'm an emily too
