Here's Harry, the new, bigger Hedgie plush, since his post has apparently vanished!
He's here.
Since Typepad was having...."difficulties" for the better part of the afternoon, I had to wait to show the beautiful contents of the "cheering up" package I recieved the other day from the lovely, lovely Kate. Kate has two littles, Nora and Henry, and the three of them joined forces to send me a happy package! Can you believe how wonderful our whole world is? Kate read about some of the crummy and hard times I've been having, and they wanted to send me something to help me cheer up....and cheer abounded!
Here are the cards I recieved from the kids (a bit of a bird theme throughout all of them!)
I love these so! They're tacked right above my workspace now...
This is Kate's card, which is incredibly beautiful (though, she didn't design it herself, as Henry and Nora did).
It's from Nikki Mcclure, via buyolympia.com (a store love).
This beautiful cigar box....
I heart.
Inside....so much sweet vintage sewing loveliness! So much red and polka dot and just so blasted sweet.
There is a glittery "Ruby Red" bubble bath tablet as well, which I am so excited about using.
A bit of a better picture of the lovely trimmings.
And here's a little drawing for Wednesday's send-off:
She's right here.
I love her.
The cursive reads: "I spent a lifespan with no cellmate".
(lyrics by Interpol)
love,
emily
PS: Did everybody catch the first episode of the new "Project Runway". Holy Moley, people around this apartment are pretty darn excited. I have a crush on A.) The punk boy & B.) The girl that looks like my cuter, blonder, more scandanavian sister. And I'm so glad that the girl who got kicked off went... I like, so hated her from the "preview episode" (chuckle).

Sounds like your 'cheering up' package worked wonders! How sweet of them to send. Harry is too cute for words!

Where do you people get all those beautiful vintage items?!?!?!?! Everywhere I see posts of beautiful fabrics and all sorts of things beautiful. Here in Chula Vista (San Diego County) I have gone a couple times to thrift shops and last time we needed shoes for a photoshoot. Well used little high heeled sandals $5.00, red vinyl thigh high boots $42, I could get new things for those sorts of prices. We told the girl bring whatever shoes she had things were either falling apart or way beyond our budget.
Anyways I love that cigar box and all its contents!!!
I love the Hedgies!!!!! Absolutely fabulous!!!

Emily, the drawing is so beautiful it makes my heart hurt a little bit, but in a good way! If I had the extra cash, I'd definitely snatch her up and give her a home before anyone else had the chance. But she is gorgeous indeed.

What a sweet package! Very generous & kind. :) I am so bummed b/c I do not have cable & haven't seen Project Runway. I got hooked last weekend at my mom's when Bravo ran a season 1 marathon. I'd never seen it & fell in love immediately! Design, drama, more drama...what could be better??? Keep posting about it!

I agree, the blonde seemed like she could easily be one of our fellow craft bloggers...though I'm looking forward to seeing what the long-haired woman from Ohio creates, given that her book was very "DIY-inspired"...

As I was watching Project Runway last night I thought "wow that girl looks like a blonde black apple!" and I am so cheered that you think so too!

This line-art drawing in pencil is just magnificant. It shows your drawing style in the most basic and therefore most natural way. I adore!
