Remix Shoes

July 16, 2006 · Amazing Things to Buy on the Internet

Decobrnchocsm I have found the most wonderful shoes!

I know that I had previously brought you an amazing  Sock Source, but now I need to share Remix Vintage shoes with you. They are vintage repro shoes, and for me (a gal who wears a steady size 10 shoe) this is so great! My life of looking for 30's and 40's and 50's heels at vintage shops is one of grave disappointment...in fact, I don't believe that a size 10 even existed then. Seriously. Maybe in goon-ish, orthopedic shoes, but not in pretty Rita Hayworth heels, that's for sure.

So, anyway, pretty excited about these shoes. I think I've said before that "I don't even understand how people can be shoe people" because I find it so hard to find cute shoes. But I'm beginning to understand. Ohhhh yes. Starting with my Fluevog Discovery, I'm starting to see that it's actually possible to bankrupt oneself with shoe purchases.

Babydollpumps1
The browny shoes above are called the "Deco" (so adorable! they are first on my list to acquire!) and these to the left are called "Babydoll Pumps", I believe. I'm going back and forth with myself about whether or not I can hack these (that lil' 3 1/4" heel might be a wee bit much for me!).

Alright, now go stare at beautiful shoes. Or socks, if you missed that post. Go forth and develop your foot fetishes, my dears!

Yes big feet are a hindrance, except in a strong wind ofcourse.

Try buying shoes in Vietnam when they asked me my size nearly all shop owners laughed and sent me to the mens section. Yes there were tears. And it doesnt help when your partner makes hand signals, similar to 'the fish was thiiissss big', behind your back to the shop assistant, whilst muttering freak.

i love remix vintage! i think you can handle the heel...they like nice and solid, unlike many of the more modern skinny heels.

Thanks for the good shoe source! I love vintage shoes, and imagine my surprise when I discoverd some time this last year that I actually could walk in heels (divorce will bring up all those kinds of discoveries!!) And shoes are terribly yummy...along with socks...and Fluevogs make me jump all around the room (apperently I can jump in heels as well...who knew?)

Oh - that has to be the best shoe site ever! I have the same big foot problem you do with regards to vintage shoes so this site is a real treasure and if I ever have any money I will have to order some.

Those Fluevog shoes are beautiful! I checked their contact details on the off-chance they have a shop outside of America, and guess what! They have 1 international store and it happens to be right here in Melbourne, Australia. It's a sign :)

OMG! I want ALL of those babydoll pumps! Every last one of them!!!! I find the thicker heels are easier to walk in, regardless of height. More support. Yay!
