Here's some new girls to add to the family...it is growing quite populous! They're all here, of course.
I love making those girls. They're so therapeutic and simple...they don't ask for much and they give quite alot (as far as good feelings are concerned!). I also have to take a wee break from the hedgehog mania, and remember that human girls are cuties, too. Though, this wee pilot completely stole my heart!
Sarah suggested this very idea last night, and I couldn't wait to paint him...I did it right away! I mean, right away, as in minutes after the idea was planted!
He's still here, but frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if he flew away at any moment now! He's already got the propellers going and everything.
Liz and Sarah and I just watched the movie "Bee Season", with Juliette Binoche (love) and Richard Gere (ugh). It was...a pickle. It took itself too seriously. I wanted to like it. I wanted to be enraptured with the...obtuseness of it all. But I just wasn't. If you'd like to see a really interesting film that is out in some theaters right now (I feel like it's been making the rounds for at least 6 months now!), see "Brick". It is this incredibly strange but utterly fascinating fusion of hard-boiled 1920's crime novel Noir, and Southern Californian High School life. I know it sounds like it wouldn't work, or would be terrible, but believe me, it works. I was spellbound. I also just finished reading The Maltese Falcon, however, so maybe I'm just feeling a little close to Sam Spade-types these days.
There will be 4 Samplers available Wednesday circa about 5 pm, EST, and they'll be the last for a while. I need to plan out some new goodies for inclusion, so hopefully they'll re-emerge in a month or so! Happy Monday, my darlings! Oops, as I typed that, it just became happy Tuesday.

Love your blog Emily. Very inspiring for a fellow creative work-from-home-er. You seem to have so many ideas flowing through your head and you turn them into such lovely things. I don't know how you do it, but I'm envious :)

Ahh- that little cute is too cute! Thanks for the Film suggestion. Have passed it along to the hubby who is currently getting his Masters in Screenwriting at UCLA and totally obsessed with Film Noir! Thanks!

I just recently discovered your blog, as well. I just love your artwork! The girls are sort of haunting and ethereal in their beauty. (I hope that came across as a compliment)

So cute!
I read "Bee Season" but have not seen the movie. It was an odd book.
